A Gigantic Kiss Hello

By R.J. Curtis
Updated 8 Hour(s) 0 Minute(s) ago

In what is easily the Quantum Leap of the week award winner, please welcome Matt Walker, mornings at Cumulus CHR/Top 40 WKFR/Kalamazoo, Mich. -- market No. 186 -- to the morning show Beasley's WKIS (99.9 Kiss Country)/Miami, market No. 12.

Walker will team with current Kiss afternoon host Scott Simon for the newly formed "Simon & Walker Morning Show." WKIS OM Ken Boesen said in a statement that Walker brings "a tremendous work ethic and a new fun energy to the WKIS team."

Prior to his stint in Kalamazoo, Walker worked at another thriving Mid-West metropolis, Grand Rapids, Mich., where he did country radio. Walker's addition and Simon's move to wakeups prompted some deck shuffling to the Kiss lineup, most notably the return of PD Ken Boesen to the airwaves. He'll handle afternoons, replacing Simon. Darlene Evans and Eric Brandon continue as WKIS mid-day and evening hosts, respectively.
