KPWT Halfway To A New Format

On Thursday (May 28) we told you that a format flip was afoot at Cox rhythmic KPWT (Power 106.7)/San Antonio. However, to keep the market entertained and in suspense just a few days longer, management is taking that time-honored approach of stunting -- say "Merry Christmas" to "Santa 106.7," which launched at noon Friday. "Great holiday music shouldn't be just for the Christmas season…it should be enjoyed all year long," read the release, which also invites us to tune in Monday, June 1 at 5pm "to hear Santa make a huge announcement…Santa has a present San Antonio has been waiting for!"
Market rumors have been rumbling that the station is prepping a flip to FM Talk, but that could just be a smokescreen. Stay tuned.
