Arbitron informed clients on Tuesday (May 19) that April 2009 New York PPM audience estimates would be delayed as a result of a data entry error. Arbitron discovered that manually entered population numbers had been transposed in the internal files used for processing PPM data during a quality control review. To avoid manual data entry errors in the future, the Columbia, Md.-based company plans to use automated data entry processes whenever possible.
The April 2009 PPM audiences estimates, originally scheduled for release on Wednesday, May 20, at 12 p.m. ET, will be delayed until Wednesday, May 27, at 12 p.m. ET.
New York Weeklies estimates for Week 1 of May 2009 will now be released on May 27 at 12 p.m. ET instead of Tuesday, May 26.
April 2009 PPM audience estimates for Nassau-Suffolk and Middlesex-Union will be released on May 20 as scheduled.
