Power 95.3 Celebrates Your Chula

"The Obie & Lil Shawn Morning Show" remembered their producer/co-host Erika "Your Chula" Roman Monday (May 4) morning on Cox rhythmic WPYO (Power 95.3)/Orlando. She died on Friday afternoon (May 1) in a car accident that occurred after she tried to avoid a chair in the road and then ended up in a water-filled embankment. A truck driver attempted to break the window and rescue her but wasn't able to since the vehicle was submerged.
Roman joined Power 95.3 in 2006, and listeners have expressed their loss online and on the air. Obie and Lil Shawn celebrated her life on Monday's show by sharing stories and playing her favorite songs. The station Web site, power953.com, remembers her as "a wonderful, passionate and caring person. She will be missed greatly by all of her friends and family. "
There will be a public memorial service on Wednesday (May 6) at Northland: A Church Distributed, located at 530 Dog Track Rd., Longwood, FL 32750. The service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Then a wake will be held on Thursday (May 7) for family and close friends from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, 606 Southwest 2nd Ave., Ocala, FL. The public is welcome after 2 p.m.
