R&R's Street Talk Daily rumored it, and now it's come to pass -- the first official humans are installed on CBS Radio's new top 40 KLSX (97.1 Amp Radio)/Los Angeles, and they're brought across the hall from alternative clusterpal KROQ: Stryker will handle afternoons, while Casey McCabe will do nights.
Stryker has been co-hosting the syndicated "Loveline," based out of KROQ, and will continue to do so TFN. McCabe had been KROQ's utility infielder but now moves over to Amp full-time.
"Stryker and McCabe both reflect the energy and attitude of Amp Radio," said CBS senior VP of programming Kevin Weatherly, who's also PD of Amp. "Stryker is a star. He has done afternoons on KROQ, co-hosted 'Loveline,' he was the DJ for Ellen DeGeneres and worked on various other TV shows. The guy is amazing.
"McCabe, in just a short time at KROQ, has proven to be an up-and-coming talent in his own right. He is one of the most talented young people in radio, and he is going to make nights on Amp Radio a ton of fun."
"I'm thrilled to be a part of the new Amp Radio," says McCabe. "When I first started out in Reno, Nev., about seven years ago, I never imagined that I would be a part of something like this."
