Williams Promoted At GMC
Heads music, talent and acquisitions

The Gospel Music Channel (GMC) elevated its senior director of music industry development Alvin Williams to senior director of music, talent and acquisitions on Monday (Feb. 16). He has been with GMC since August 2004 and his first position was director of marketing and promotions. Next he was upped to director of music industry development and two years ago he received the promotion to senior director of music industry development.
According to GMC VP of business affairs & development Paul Butler, "Alvin’s deep connections and long-standing relationships in the music and entertainment industries have helped us attract great talent – both new and established stars. His efforts have played a key role in the development of our powerful programming lineup, which in turn has led to Gospel Music Channel becoming one of the fastest growing networks in cable. I take great pleasure in announcing this richly deserved promotion."
Prior to joining GMC in 2004, Williams worked for Music World's director of gospel and as an A&R director at Word Records. His new duties consists of developing and executing strategy and he's responsible for acquiring music programs in addition to his previously assigned responsibilities. Williams has assumed his new role with GMC.
