The CRTC has given its stamp of approval to a deal that allows Rogers to buy active rocker CIKR (K-Rock 105.7) and country CKXC (Kix 93.5)/Kingston, Ontario, from K-Rock 1057 Inc. Rogers already owns a 25% stake in the pair and will pick up the outstanding portion, which, including operating leases and consulting fees, amounts to approximately $8.86 million.

The CRTC will issue new licences for the stations to Rogers, which will now expire on Aug. 31, 2013.
