John McDonald, the 62 year-old longtime manager of NRG Media stations in Kearney, Nebraska, died at his home Sunday (May 31) following recent lung surgery. McDonald first took over as GM of news/talk KGFW in 1974.
McDonald was once president of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association served two terms on the NBA Board of Directors and is a member of the group's Hall of Fame. He was also chair of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, and adult sons Jeff and Jason.
