On Sunday (May 31) evening, Entravision rhythmic KBMB (103.5 the Bomb)/Sacramento launched "80 West," a new local-music specialty show. In addition to their weekday shifts, morning show producer Famous and midday personality Nikia team up to host the weekly show heard Sundays from 8-10 p.m.. This addition moves the Sunday edition of R Dub!'s "Slow Jams" show to 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
"80 West" is named after a freeway in Northern California, which is the music that will be represented on the show. In addition to hip-hop, the program will play local jazz, R&B, blues and spoken-word music, and each show will close with a gospel title dubbed as "The Inspirational Song of the Day." Other features include "Put On for Your City," a community spotlight to address local issues when they arise.
