At the age of 83, sports director Bob Chase announces his retirement from Federated Media talk WOWO/Ft. Wayne, Ind., after 56 years with the station.
After taking the summer off, Chase will return for his 56th year as the voice of the Fort Wayne Komets hockey team. He says he is coming back because he is just one year behind Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully for the most years with any one sports franchise. "That rascal Scully has done 57," Chase says.
