Boston fave Matty Siegel, ringmaster of the long-running "Matty in the Morning" on Clear Channel Top 40 WXKS (Kiss 108)/Boston, is expanding his fiefdom an hour down I-95 to Providence, where he annexes mornings on Hot AC sister WSNE (93.3 Coast FM). Matty and company -- which includes Billy Costa, Lisa Donovan and producer Jim -- plug the chasm created when Tad Lemire exited during last month's Clear Channel "RIF II" (reduction in force). Matty starts Monday, May 18.
"Matty is an incredible talent and a proven winner," says CC/Boston & Providence regional VP Tom McConnell. "The Matty Show has dominated in the ratings for decades, and I'm very confident the success will continue in Providence on WSNE."
Kiss 108 PD Chris Tyler added, "Starting Monday, Rhode Island will be waking up with a radio legend! Matty's unique brand of humor will have Rhode Islanders from Woonsocket down to Newport laughing all the way to work every day."
Siegel said, "We are really looking forward to bringing the show to Providence, and I hope everyone enjoys the show as much as we enjoy doing it."
