MECHANICAL
REQUIREMENTS
All files should be sent MAC formatted.
All high resolution scans, fonts
and a Quark document of the artwork
should be sent with a high resolution
PDF. Applications and formats
must be indicated. Files should
not be RGB nor contain Spot Colors
nor have a resolution of 72 dpi.
Images at 72 dpi are low resolution
and will print poorly. We strongly
suggest files to be at least 300
dpi.
We accept
the following software: Quark
7, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe
Illustrator CS3. We DO NOT accept
InDesign or Pagemaker.

production is free of charge when

Updated BDS information may be

on the day of printing. If printing
plant overtime is incurred due
to late-strip in ads, accounts
will be charged $750.
CANCELLATIONS:
Advertisers will be charged for
advertising space cancelled after
the Tuesday prior to print date.

FLASH
ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS
Below
is a list of everything required
for a Flash ad.
•
Must be made in or saved down
to Version 7 or lower.
• .SWF file and live .FLA
file
• Maximum file size is 30k.
• Copies of fonts used in
the .FLA file
• Back-up gif
• The background color of
the ad
• The version of flash that
a user must have in order to see
the flash ad
• The Flash frame rate must
be less than 18 frames per second;
twelve fps is prefered.
• Invisible buttons must
be placed on the top most layer
of the file. Buttons placed on
layers below the invisible buttons
will not respond to mouse. No
buttons should overlap.
• Make sure there are no
spaces in the name of the file.
• Flash files should follow
the standard IAB file size limitations
of: 30K for 160x600, 180x150 and
468x60.

How
To Link Your Flash Ad to a URL
1.
Create ad
2. Create blank
button with nothing on the up,
over, down. On the hit behavior
draw a box without a stroke the
entire size of the banner ad (or
even larger, it doesn’t
matter)
3. Go back to
the current scene and drag that
button onto the work area. It
should show up as a big blue square. Make sure this button, which is hidden, is on the topmost layer of the .fla.
4. Make sure the button is selected and open the actions panel. Enter code for the button as follows, entering an absolute URL and targeting a "_blank" window (which will open as an additional window in the viewer's browser.)

5. Export your
.swf file as usual.

and crisp type. Be aware that photoshop is NOT a good medium for type-intensive
ads.
Any
special effects,

shadows, transparencies

your electronic
file. All
changes,
corrections
or revisions
should
be handled
through
your A.E. AD
CREATIVE POLICY
Radio & Records has final
approval for all ads with respect
to editorial/creative content.
Radio & Records reserves the
right to remove an advertisement
from its web sites at any time
for any reason.
